Eric was a senior executive with SAB Miller, having previously practiced as a corporate lawyer in New York City. He and his family moved to the UK in 1998.

In 2011, after a lifetime as a fit runner and cyclist, Eric was unexpectedly struck down by severe heart failure, caused by a rare genetic defect. He was extraordinarily fortunate to receive a life-saving heart transplant at Papworth Hospital in Cambridgeshire in 2013.

Eric and his wife Kate enjoy their six young grandchildren. Eric served as a Gamesmaker during the 2012 Olympics and now volunteers with Anthony Nolan, the blood cancer charity, and at Shakespeare’s Globe and Cadogan Hall. This summer, he was a competitor on the Papworth Hospital team at the British Transplant Games in Glasgow, which gave him the opportunity to scout part of the Bryson Line!
